Diagnostic Medical Sonography

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program introduces students to a wide variety of specialties such as abdominal, breast, OB-GYN, vascular and musculoskeletal. Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, more commonly referred to as ultrasound technicians, work with specialized equipment that uses soundwaves to produce internal anatomical images of the human body. Their work helps to support medical professionals in making accurate diagnoses. A sonographer is responsible for obtaining patient history, performing the sonographic examination, maintaining patient comfort during the examination, and recording anatomy, pathology or other data for interpretation by the supervising physician. This program is offered

Program applications are accepted until a week prior to the start of each semester. There are some exceptions for programs or certificates that begin mid-semester. Some high-demand/limited-enrollment programs reach capacity based on the number of students who complete admission. Applicants are accepted into limited-enrollment programs on a first-come, first-served basis and are admitted from program waitlists as space becomes available.
Advisory board committee members from area businesses provide guidance and direction on curriculum and program outcomes.
Moraine Park offers Employment Services and Career Services to students.
Tutoring is available online and face to face for our students.
